U.S. Oil Freefall Supporting Market
U.S. oil production has dropped a total of 287,000 barrels a day over the last eight weeks and the drop-off is continuing to give the market confidence, says Bjarne Schieldrop, chief commodities analyst at Sweden's SEB Markets Merchant Banking. Shale oil producers in the U.S. are under enormous pressure at the moment, and some of the most bearish observers have predicted that production could sink as low as 8 million b/d before there is any significant recovery.
